An idea that parents could enjoy all the benefits of the best of all
homeschooling approaches, with little to none of the drawbacks.
Working from the idea that literature communicates powerfully to young minds,
we developed a curriculum that is strongly literature-based. This helps us
offer to parents the opportunity to do less teaching and more "learning
together" with their children. This "Learning Together" method has the
additional benefit of requiring almost no preparation for the parent,
preserving as many moments as possible for "face-to-face" time with their
children.
These living, wonderful books were able to capture the imagination of
children, turn them into better, curious readers, and help them to remember
historical detail in a way nothing else would. In addition, we chose books,
especially for our younger learners, that drew them in visually first. The
graphic approach of these books also helped include kinesthetic learners, as
they are able to trace maps with their fingers, find objects on the page, or
search for visual clues to questions their parents asked.
Literature is marvelous, but it has its limitations, especially with hands-on
learners. Thus, we add a vibrant activity set to each of our programs. These
sets offer activity kits, books, and ideas to help parents introduce a
hands-on aspect to the time with their children. These times create family
memories and a family culture.
In our language arts, we add interesting workbooks so some of your children
can be working independently while you work one-on-one in another area with
another student.
In short, we've taken all of the best for you and combined it into one
package. With your guidebook in hand, you have everything you need to begin a
journey with your family this year that can continue for a lifetime.
It's why we say we offer you "Literature, Activities, Memories."
Come make some memories with us!

Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies:
Our Return Policy
We want to do everything in our power to make sure you are satisfied with our
program. With this in mind, we offer a four-week guarantee on any of our basic
programs that will allow you to acquaint yourself with the materials and try
them with your family. This guarantee means you have purchased at least one
basic theme study program. If within that time, you are not happy with the
program, we ask that you contact us within the first four weeks and see if we
can help you with any difficulty. (The “four weeks” begins when we ship, so
most families have an actual three-week trial time). If you are still not
satisfied, notify us by phone of your intention, then return the entire
package via an insured carrier. We will give you a full refund on any of the
basic program materials, even those you’ve used during the trial time, and
even if you have written in the guidebooks . We cannot refund any used
language arts materials, but we will refund you for any unused materials. To
receive your refund, we would ask that you state in writing how you feel we
could improve our product and what we could do to make it fit your family.
The conditions for receiving a full refund on themed sets are as follows:
The materials that weren’t used in the first four weeks must be returned in
new, re-saleable condition.
Any language arts materials that are still new can also be returned. Carefully
pack your items for shipment. They must be mailed in an appropriate container
with proper packing materials, usually a sturdy box. Don’t use newspaper, as
the ink bleeds onto the materials. Notebook paper crumpled up works well as
packing material. Ship the books flat -- spine facing spine -- don’t turn turn
them on their sides! Be sure to include your name and address in the box, or
your packing slip, so we can take care of the credit due to you. If you keep
some of the materials, the discounts offered to you in the basic packages
can’t be honored, and we will charge you individual prices for the items you
chose to keep.
After the four-week period, if you choose to return your materials, there is a
25% restocking fee on any unused materials in resaleable condition. We cannot
accept returns on any used materials after four weeks. (The materials need not
reach us within the four weeks, but we need to hear from you within that
time.) We cannot accept any returns after sixty days, counted from the date
your package shipped from us, but this allows you almost eight weeks to make a
decision about your materials. Of course, we always encourage you to use our
phone support for any questions!
Purchasing Individual Items:
Our customers have requested the opportunity to purchase individual items, and
we are happy to offer that as an option. However, we are unable to offer a
full money-back guarantee on items bought individually if no basic set is
purchased with the purchase. This is quite simply because we feel that while
we can guarantee your happiness with the sets we’ve designed to work together
as a whole, we cannot guarantee you’ll be satisfied when you purchase only
select items. For a variety of reasons, customers may choose to purchase only
our guidebooks, while supplementing with library books, their own personal
library, or seek to track down books from other sources such as used book
stores. Although we feel we offer a good value to our parents, we understand
the need to choose these other options.
However, the nature of our guidebooks means that a lot of the intrinsic value
of the program is contained in the guides, since so many activities and ideas
are contained in its pages, and the sets working together as a whole. For this
reason, we DO allow returns on individual items, but must charge a 25%
restocking fee on these individual item purchases.
It may help to keep in mind the following things:
We do post sample pages of our guidebooks online, and therefore, the need to
“preview” the materials should be lessened. Also, please consider that we DO
offer a full-money back guarantee on materials purchased as part of a basic
program as outlined above. We feel that purchasing an entire program better
represents the value of our program, as this is how it was designed to be
used, and therefore we can stand behind these products as a set with a
guarantee. We do offer phone support on our products, which should help you
settle any major questions in your mind about materials prior to purchase. Any
materials you wish to return must be returned in new, re-saleable condition.
Carefully pack your items for shipment. They must be mailed in an appropriate
container with proper packing materials. Don’t use newspaper, as the ink
bleeds off onto the materials. Ship the books flat -- do not turn them on
their sides! Be sure to include your name and address in the box, or your
packing slip, so we can credit you appropriately.
Handling a Return:
Contact us first to make us aware of your decision to return your materials.
We have found that sometimes a parent’s dissatisfaction with a program is due
to purchasing a program that doesn’t fit the ages of their children or another
easily-resolved issue, and we’d be happy to help you if you feel that your
materials just aren’t “working” for you. We’ll be able to work with you to see
if an exchange of materials would be a good option for your family. We’ll also
talk with you about how to best handle your return or exchange. Then, pack and
ship them as directed above.
Items Not Eligible for Return:
Occasionally, customers request that we special order an item for them. These
items are not eligible for return by the customer.
We also do not accept returns on items ordered in quantities larger than 5,
unless the customer has more than five of their own children they are
schooling in their home. In this case, we would accept returns on materials
equal to the number of children the parent is currently teaching.
Other Policies:
We must receive your payment with your order to process it. We must charge a
$25 returned check charge for any check that is returned unpaid.
Please be aware that WinterPromise sells materials made available to us by
outside publishing companies, and therefore does not always have control over
the publishing of books and resources by these companies. If titles are made
unavailable, we cannot give notice to all our customers of the change,
however, we will make a comparable substitution, although prices may vary
slightly if such a substitution is necessary. Please allow a week for delivery
of your items from the time we ship your order. If your shipment has any
damaged goods or shortages, you must report this within two weeks to receive
any credit.
Finally . . .
If you have any questions about our return policy, or would like to request a
special exception due to special status, such as an overseas location or other
circumstance, you are welcome to call and ask. We do try to work with our
customers as much as possible to help them meet their family’s needs. Just let
us know how we can help.
