Atlas of World HistoryAtlas of World History

With WinterPromise, each year's program has mapping assignments. From about the fourth grade on up, and especially for high school, these mapping assignments require the use of a good world history atlas. A world history atlas has maps that are both historical (i.e., Asia during the rise of the Mongols) and topical (i.e., showing the spread of Islam or the rise of European commercial empires). This atlas provides a wealth of maps -- 450 of them -- and is divided into five parts: The Ancient World, the Medieval World, the Early Modern World, the Age of Revolutions, and the Twentieth Century. Each section opens with an introduction that highlights the main themes of the period, while text explains each of the maps and puts them into historical context. At over 300 pages, this atlas is comprehensive. Its colored maps are easy to read and international in nature. This book will be a valuable part of your family's library and aid their schoolwork for years to come.

This atlas (or another like it) is required for completion of mapping activities for Adventures in the Sea & Sky, Quest for the Ancient World, Quest for the Middle Ages, and Quest for Royals & Revolution.
