Students will work on the construction of characters in fiction and apply what they know as they write a piece of mystery fiction over the course of the year. This program includes language arts resources designed to help your student polish key skills in word usage, vocabulary and writing. They'll also continue with more advanced grammar study and expand their understanding of how to communicate emotion in their written work. It also includes a guidebook that offers creative writing and literature to coordinate with various themed programs. Additionally, the guidebook offers discussion topics on key literary elements.

A literature set is also included in each package and coordinates with your themed program choice. Students are expected to read about a chapter a day of about 14-18 pages in length.
